Application and Admission to the CS&E Program

Both admission and degree requirements follow those established by the Graduate School. The degree requires 30 credit hours (all of which must be at the 4000-level or above and 24 of which must be at the 5000-level or above). Students entering this program must have a MS degree.

Students admitted to the program usually have academic backgrounds in the mathematical sciences, the physical sciences, or engineering. Students work closely with an advisory committee in the selection of courses and research activities to help ensure success in the Ph.D. research project and in their chosen activities after graduation.
